Resources

Here are the main genealogy resources which have helped me in

my research of the Woodford and Clarke Families.

  • Ancestry.co.uk– Which has given me the census information from 1841 to 1901, and BMD information.

  • Find My Past– This is a comprehensive site for researching your family tree and allows you to  find your ancestors and start building your family tree withfindmypast.co.uk’s comprehensive British family history records. You’ll also find collections from Ireland and around the world to help you continue your research.

  • Family search – The Church of Latter- day saints for The largest collection of free family history, family tree and genealogy records in the world.

  • FreeBMD – FreeBMD is an ongoing project, the aim of which is to transcribe the Civil Registration index of births, marriages and deaths for England and Wales, and to provide free Internet access to the transcribed records.

  • Genes Reunite -For contacts researching their own family trees and the ability to view their trees once membership has been obtained.

  • Historical Directories – This is a digital library of local and trade directories for England and Wales, from 1750 to 1919. It contains high quality reproductions of comparatively rare books, essential tools for research into local and genealogical history

  • House of Names -For interesting information about surnames and coat of arms, including gifts.

  • Parish Chest-For parish records of UK counties pre 1837 – 1901, including expert assistance.
