Albert Eaton

Albert Eaton 1866 – 1924

Albert was born on 5.05.1866 His parents were John Eaton and Sarah Kirby. In 1871 Census Albert was at home with John and Sarah in Packington. In 1881 Census he was an Indoor Farm Servant for William Newham in Burton on Trent. By 1891 he had moved with his brothers to Ardwick in Manchester to work as a general labourer. By 1901 he had met and married Emma Smith. He was a Corporation Carter and had three lodgers.

There is a story that Albert was supposed to have married Elizabeth, Emma’s sister, but she died at the age of 24, so Albert married Emma instead.

There is a story that Emma, just before she died, said I’m not ready to go yet. They are coming back for me at half past two. She died at 2.30 that afternoon.
